Labuan Bajo to Ruteng Day 198: Discovering Flores

Canvi de plans!!! Fa dos dies que hauríem d'haver sortit de Flores amb el ferry de nou cap a les Gilli, pero degut a mal temps el ferry no funciona i no sabem quan funcionarà!! Poder divendres!! La nostre racaneria, mes el fet que l'Ari ha decidit canviar el bitllet per allargar una setmana mes la seva estada amb mi, ens han fet decidir a ser del puny fort i esperar a que surti el ferry ja que el vol es tres vegades més car!!!!! Aixi doncs per no estar mes temps esperant a Labuan Bajo (si no fas immersio no hi ha gran cosa a fer), hem decidit explorar la illa per un parell de dies!! Havíem de marxar ahir, pero l'Ari se'ns va intoxificar amb un peix i ho hem retrassat un dia!!! Lloguem scooter i cap a Ruteng!! A 4 hores de cami, per carreteres a vegades esfaltades, a vegades de sorra!! Genial endinsar-se cap a l'interior i allunyar-se dels turistes!! Aquí tots els nens es saluden com a histèrics (com saludava jo al tren de petit!!). No paren de cridar "jaimista", l'Ari s'ha endut una decepció en descobrir que no es "hola" en indonesi, sinó una versió chapucera de "Hi Mr.!!". Ens desviem per veure el poble de Todo, i confirma la meva fòbia a veure pobles Nòmades doncs son un circ per guiris, ens fan vestir amb robes típiques, pero la resta del poble va amb texans i bambes i tenen nomes UNA cabaneta!! Això si tots els nens del poble ens miren embadelits!! D'arribades a Ruteng buscant allotjament ens topem amb el Theo, un home local que ens acompanya a un alberg on ell també ha de passar la nit de cami a casa seva!!!

Change of plans!!! Two days ago we should have left Flores on our way to Gilli, but due to bad weather the ferry is not working and no idea when it will work agai!! Maybe Friday!! Our tight budget plus the fact that Ari has decided to change her flight plans and stay one more week with me, have made us decide to stay until there is a ferry instead of taking the three times more expensive flight!!! So to stay no longer in Labuan Bajo (not much things to do if you're not diving) we decide to explore the island for a couple of days!!! We had to leave yesterday but Ari got intoxicated buy a fish so we decided to delay it one day!! We rent a scooter and head to Ruteng!! 4 hours driving buy roads sometimes of cement sometimes of sand!!! Amazing to get inland of the island and leave tourists behind!!! All kids say hi to us like crazy (as when I was a kid and said hi to the train!!). They keep yelling "jaimista", which Ari got let down when she discovered it's not the Indonesian way of saying "hello" but a version on " Hi Mr.!!". On our way we detour to visit Todo which confirms my phobia of visiting local villages as they are a circus for tourists, they make us where traditional clothes while the rest of the town where's jeans and running shoes and they only have ONE traditional house!! However all local children look at us with amazement!! When we arrive in Ruteng we meet Theo, a local guy who shows us to a lodge where he's also staying on his way back home!!
