Sukhothai Day 317: biking around the old city

De nou a Thailandia despres de creuar la frontera per terra (tot una excursió amb cotxe). Ahir me'l vaig prendre de relax i comprar el billet de tornada. Aquests últims dies m'els prenc per redescobrir Thailandia i perdrem per poblets menys turístics d'aquest país (sempre he anat als llocs guiris). Avui passeig amb bicicleta per la antiga ciutat de Sukhothai, construïda durant la caiguda de l'imperi Khmer  a Cambodia el segle XVI, Lonely planet la compara com una mini Angkor Wat, jo diria que micro, ni punt de comparació, tot i q bonic poblet (tant el nou com el vell). Curiós que la entrada te la fragmentin en tres (part central, nord i oest), ja et podrien vendre el combo per menys complicacions per lo que val!! A mes avui aniversari del rei, tots els Thais de groc i veient la celebració per la tele!!!

In Thailand again after crossing the border by land (a good ride by car). Yesterday I took it as a relax day to buy my ticket back home. This last few days I'll have them to rediscover Thailand and get lost in the less touristy towns of the country (I've always gone to the touristic ones). Today bike ride around the old city of Sukhothai, built during the fall of the Khmer empire in Cambodia in the 16th century, lonely planet describes it as a mini Angkor Wat, I would say micro, no comparison possible, but still a nice town (both the old and new one). Funny they divide the entrance fee in three (central part, northern and western), they could just sell it as a combo ticket for less complications for the price!! Plus today is the Kings anniversary, all Thai people dressed in yellow and seeing the celebration on TV!!!
