postdoc India: Bangkok Day 121: Serious Tourism

He fet molt avui (o ar mes ben dit!!!). El dia d'abans amb l'Angeline i l'Arnault vam intentar anar a un dels temples (Emerald Budha), pero vam arribar a les 15.31 i tancaven a les 15.30!! Aixi que la resta de la tarda va consistir en shopping (fracassat ja que no vam comprar res) i cine (Spiderman 2!!). Senta be anar al cine despres de tant de temps!! I lo millor, a Tailàndia despres dels tràilers i abans de la peli surt un vídeo promocional del rei i tothom s'ha d'aixecar per mostrar respecte!!! Us imagineu que fessin això amb els Borbons!!! No podíem parar de riure!!!

Pero vaja tornant al dia d'ahir ja sol, em viag proposar anar a veure algun dels temples de Bangkok!! I em va condir!! Wat Pho (amb el Budha reclinat), Wat Phra Kaew (Emerald Budha, del qual no es pot fer foto), Gran Palau i Wat Arun (amb espectaculars vistes de la ciutat!!!). I al vespre Th Kao San, famós carrer de Bangkok amb tots els baretos i els backpackers!!!

Noto molt la diferencia entre un país com Tailàndia i la Índia! Tailàndia es molt mes "tourist-friendly" que la Índia, tot es troba fàcil, ben indicat, agents de turisme que t'ajuden a cada cantonada, no cal pagar extra per entrar una càmera, no se un milió de coses!!!

Today I did a lot (well yesterday actually!!). The day before with Angeline and Arnault we tried going to the Emerald Budha, but we got there at 3.31pm and they closed at 3.30pm!! So we decid to go shopping (which failed as we didn't buy anything) and a movie (Spider-Man 2!!!). It feels good to go to a movie after so long!! And the best, in Thailand after the trailer and before the movie begins a promotional video of the Royal family appears and everyone must stand up and show respect!! You imagine this happening in Spain!!! We couldn't stop laughing!!

But coming back to yesterday all alone, I wanted to see some of Bangkoks temples!!and I made it count!! Wat Pho (reclining Budha), Wat Phra Kaew (Emerald Budha, which you can't take pictures of), Grand Palace and Wat Arun (with spectacular views of the city!!). And in the evening Th Kao San, famous street in Bangkok with bars and backpackers!!!

You can feel the difference between Thailand and India!! Thailand is much more tourist-friendly than India, you find everything easily, well indicated, tourist agents willing to help on every corner, no extra pay for camera, a million things!!!
