Amritsar Day 66: Golden Temple and Border Closing Ceremony

Amritsar is famous for its golden temple!! Not only for being golden but because you can stay in a near facility for free (donation required), where they put all the westerners together in a separate room, and you can eat for free (donation appreciated) a pretty good thali (rice with some dhal and chapati). Everybody is really welcoming, specially when they see you eat with them!!

Amritsar es famós per el seu temple daurat!! No només per ser daurat sinó perquè et pots hospedar a les seves facilitats gratuïtament (donació requerida), on posen a tots els occidentals junts en una habitació separada, i on pots menjar gratuïtament (donació apreciada) un ben bon thali (arròs amb dhal i chapati). Tothom et dona ,a benvinguda molt amablement, especialment quan veuen que menjes amb ells!!

The water around the temple is holi water, you can see people taking there dips around it. Obviously women have there own dipping area!! People also drink the water, no comments!!

L'aigua al voltant del temple està considerada sagrada, així que veus gent banyant-s'hi. Per suposat les dones tenen un lloc diferent on banyar-se!! La gent també es beu aquesta aigua, sense comentaris!!

Amritsar is also famous for being close to the border (30 km away) with Paksitan!! Every night they have a closing ceremony of the border!! Though I'm glad I went, I found the ceremony a bit offensive!! Specially cause it encourages the rivalry between both countries instead of the peace!! Both countries have there crowds cheering for their country and competing against the other to see who has the loudest crowd!!! Not only that but the whole ceremony is the guards of India and Pakistan daring each other to see who is the bravest!! You see their hats?? So kind of like a rooster fight!!

Amritsar també es famós per ser aprop de la frontera (30 km) amb el Pakistan!! Cada nit se celebra una cerimònia de tancament de la frontera!! Tot i que estic content per haver-hi anat, vaig trobar la ceremònia una mica ofensiva!! Especialment perquè anima la rivalitat entre tots dos països en comptes de la pau!! Tots dos tenen la seva gent cridant i animant al seu país competint per veure qui fa mes soroll!! No només això pero tota la ceremònia veus els guardes de l'India i del Pakistan fent-se els "gallitos" per veure qui es el mes atrevit!! Veieu els seus barrets?? Com una baralla de galls!!

Dharamsala Day 65: Hiking in converse and jeans

After a rainy day with a lot of sitting around yesterday, today a nice sun rose, so it was time to go back to the trip done the first day and make it to the top!! We did, although it was full of snow the last part, and I was just in converse and jeans!! The problem was more the way down, skating down in my converse!! However the view was great, enjoy!!

Després de un dia de pluja i molta estona assegut, avui el sol a sortit, així que era hora de tornar a intentar el cim del primer dia i arribar al cim!! Hi hem arribat, tot i que la ultima part era plena de neu! I jo només portava unes converse i uns texans!! El problema ha sigut a la baixada, patinant avall en les converse!! Les vistes eren magnífiques, disfruteu!!

Dharamsala Day 63: Free Tibet

Walking down the valley from Dharamkot to Bhagsu to McLeod Ganj!! Visiting the Tibet temple and the Tibet Museum, and seeing a movie about blind kids from Tibet climbing Mount Everest (cried like a baby the whole time)!! Interesting how in the museum, Tibetan people complain about how Chinese try to erase any kind of trace about their history and their own language...gives for some thinking!!!

Caminar per la vall des de Dharamkot fins a Bhagsu i fins a McLeod Ganj!! Visitar el temple del Tibet i el Museu del Tibet, i veure una pelicula sobre nens cecs del Tibet escalant l'Everest (plorat com un bebè tota l'estona)!! Interessant com al museu, els tibetans es queixen de que els xinos intenten esborrar tota traça de la seva historia i la seva cultura...dona per reflexionar!!!

Dharmsala Day 62: Spontaneous Hike

Dharmsala is the home of the exhiled government of the Tibet and the Dalai Lama!! Beautiful town in the middle of the mountains!! Many different little towns where to stay, I choose Dharamkot, calm and silent!! PEACEFUL!! I wasn't expecting to go on a hike so pictures with my iPhone is all you get!!

Dharamsala es on viu en exhili el govern del Tibet i el Dalai Lama!! Prescios poble en mig de les muntanyes!! Molts diferents poblets on quedar-se a dormir, he trist Dharamkot, calmat i silenciós!! MOLTA PAU!! Us haureu de conformar amb fotos fetes amb el Movil ja que la excursió a sigut bastant imprevista!!

Rishikesh Day 61: Farewell

La vida es maca i relaxada a Rishikesh (tot i que una mica turística), pero toca canviar de destinació (cap a Dharamsala)!! Aquí a Rishikesh es famós ja que els Beatles si van quedar una temporada i van composar un CD aquí (l'ashram atrotinat de aquí sota es on van estar).

Life is nice and relaxed in Rishikesh (though a bit too touristy), but time to change location (toward Dharamsala)!! Rishikesh is famous as the Beatles stayed for a while and composed a CD here (the torn down ashram below is where they'd stayed).

Rishikesh Day 60: Rafting in Ganges in Hindu and evening Yoga

Ràfting de bon mati per el Ganges amb tot de Indis i en Hindú, així que només entenia "forward" i "stop"!! Hi ha vídeo amb GoPro pero de moment m'és impossible de penjar així que mes endevant hi haurà link!!! Al vespre classe genial i demolidora de Ashtanga Vinasa Yoga, per fi una classe demolidora després de tant temps sense fer massa exercici!!

Rafting first thing in the morning in the Ganges with all Indians in Hindu, so I only understood "forward" and "stop"!!! There is a GoPro video but so far it's impossible to upload so hope to give you the link soon!!! In the evening great and demolishing Ashtanga Vinasa Yoga class, finally a demolishing class after so much time without doing much exercise!!
